The design has been adapted from a baluster found in the Schlesigner & Mayer Store Baluster Design Motif, Chicago, Illinois (1899) by Louis Sullivan.

Louis H. Sullivan was one of the most influential American architects in history. He is considered by many scholars to be the "father of modernism" and is credited as the creator of the modern skyscraper.
